One of Sarasota County’s most beloved Old Florida destinations is preparing to welcome visitors back. Snook Haven Regional Park, nestled along the Myakka River in Venice, is expected to reopen on November 6, 2026, following an extensive renovation designed to preserve its historic charm while introducing new amenities.
Located at 5000 E. Venice Avenue, Snook Haven has long been known for its scenic waterfront setting, live music, outdoor dining, and opportunities to explore the Myakka River. The destination has remained a favorite among locals and visitors seeking an authentic glimpse of Florida’s natural beauty.
The renovation includes a new food-service building, a covered riverside pavilion, an improved performance area for live entertainment, a fishing pier, enhanced accessibility, and updated facilities supporting canoe and kayak rentals.
The improvements aim to create a more comfortable and accessible experience while maintaining the laid-back atmosphere that has made Snook Haven a recognizable part of the Venice community.
November 6 is the latest reported reopening date, although Sarasota County’s public project information has not independently confirmed that exact date. Food-service operations may also resume on a separate schedule.
For longtime visitors and those who have yet to experience it, the reopening offers another opportunity to enjoy one of Sarasota County’s distinctive waterfront destinations.
