A major new investment could make college and career training more accessible for Manatee County graduates.
On August 25, Manatee County approved a partnership with State College of Florida that will invest up to $7.5 million over three years through the new Suncoast Prosper Scholarship Fund.
The program is designed to provide “last-dollar” assistance—helping eligible students cover tuition and required expenses remaining after grants and other financial aid are applied.
Approximately 1,425 students are expected to benefit while pursuing associate degrees, certificate programs and training connected to high-demand local careers.
