A major new healthcare facility is coming to Sarasota County, with plans moving forward for a 135,000-square-foot Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic along Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has selected the development team responsible for bringing the project to life at 2390 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard in Sarasota county.

The two-story facility is designed to expand healthcare access for veterans throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties, bringing a wide range of medical services together under one roof.

Services are expected to include primary care, mental health care, dental services, audiology, pharmacy services, physical and occupational therapy, laboratory testing, eye care, telehealth and additional specialty care.

The clinic is also expected to support approximately 200 employees and will be operated by the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.

Construction is currently projected to begin in summer 2027, with completion anticipated in 2029. The facility is expected to begin welcoming its first patients in fall 2029.

For veterans and their families throughout the region, the new clinic represents a significant investment in local healthcare infrastructure and the opportunity to access more services closer to home.
