As Lakewood Ranch continues to grow, Manatee County is expanding its public safety infrastructure with the opening of a brand-new Sheriff’s Office substation.
The 5,000-square-foot facility officially opened following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 29 at Premier Sports Campus North, located at 16440 Rangeland Parkway.
The new building is more than twice the size of the previous Lakewood Ranch substation and provides a dedicated home base for the Sheriff’s Office Selective Enforcement Division.
The facility supports specialized operations including traffic enforcement, K-9 supervision, school crossing guards, and SWAT leadership. It also has space to accommodate approximately 30 traffic deputies.
Unlike the previous location, which operated out of a former information center, the new substation was designed specifically for law enforcement, with enhanced security and separate access areas for deputies and visitors.
Residents can also visit the facility to file police reports, speak with an on-duty deputy, or safely dispose of expired medications through Project Drug Drop.
A deputy will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
With continued residential growth throughout Lakewood Ranch and eastern Manatee County, the new facility represents another investment in the services and infrastructure supporting the community.
