Shore Restaurant Plans a Comeback on St. Armands Circle!
One of Sarasota’s recognizable dining destinations is working toward a return, with plans for a new restaurant and mixed-use development on St. Armands Circle.
Shore Restaurant closed its original St. Armands location in December 2024 following extensive flooding from the 2024 hurricanes. Now, the family behind the restaurant is pursuing a new chapter just around the corner.
The proposed redevelopment would transform the former Chase Bank property at 24–28 N. Boulevard of the Presidents into a three-story destination.
The plans include a café and retail boutique on the ground floor, an approximately 8,463-square-foot Shore Restaurant on the second floor, and a residential condominium on the third floor.
One of the most interesting parts of the project is its approach to storm protection. The owners are incorporating flood-resistant glass and other design features intended to make the property more resilient to future hurricanes.
The project has evolved since its original announcement in 2025. Earlier plans included hotel rooms, but the revised concept now features a residential component.
According to November 5 reporting from the Sarasota Observer, demolition work is underway, although the full redevelopment still requires city approvals. The owners hope to work through the remaining issues in early 2027.
For St. Armands Circle, the proposal represents more than another restaurant project. It is an opportunity for a familiar local business to return while adapting to the challenges coastal businesses have faced in recent years.
